The old continent entices us with unique experiences in its northernmost regions. In Lapland, the stars of the show are the Northern Lights, or aurora borealis, breaking through the darkness. For the Inuit, these lights symbolize the spirits of their deceased family and friends dancing in the afterlife.

The Northern Lights have always been shrouded in mystery. This phenomenon is known as “revontulet,” which means “fox fire.” Ancient legends speak of an arctic fox that ignited fires by brushing its fur against the snow.

We suggest listening to Sami legends by the warmth of a campfire in a teepee, exploring lush forests covered in a white blanket of snow on a snowmobile, ice fishing, crossing the line marking the Arctic Circle, and enjoying an outdoor jacuzzi in a snow-covered forest. Here, you’ll find accommodations as unique as an ice hotel, a floating spa on a frozen lake, the cockpit of a vintage airplane, or a treehouse whose walls are mirrors.

We also recommend exploring remote territories like the Faroe Islands, navigating a icebreaker through the Gulf of Bothnia, spotting polar bears in Svalbard and the beautiful landscapes of Norway, snorkeling in Silfra, and venturing into the magma chamber of the Thrihnukagigur volcano.

Visiting Santa Claus in Finnish Lapland is undoubtedly a memory for a lifetime that delights children and, why not say it, adults who become children again there, enjoying the magic of Christmas.

In addition to various Christmas craft workshops with elves, we visited a reindeer farm run by a Sami family. There, we celebrated the Crossing of the Arctic Circle ceremony accompanied by ancestral chants to the beat of a shamanic drum, and obtained reindeer driver’s licenses valid for 5 years.

A snowmobile safari at dawn through snow-covered forests was another wonderful experience, and the icing on the cake was the Northern Lights photography safari with our Sami guide, a perfect connoisseur of places with minimal light pollution. Other highly recommended experiences include the Arktikum Museum and enjoying an ice hockey game.

In Europe, we advise you to enjoy the imposing Dolomites, the romance of Tuscany, and the beauty of the coasts of Puglia, Corsica, or the Greek islands. There, you will experience unique moments such as a traditional Italian cooking class, a wine tasting at a renowned winery in Tuscany, and sunset sailing around Zakynthos, Lichadonisia, or the coast of Fethiye.

For the most discerning travelers, we will suggest exclusive and original accommodations such as cave hotels in Cappadocia or Santorini, staying in palazzos like the one we chose with an infinity pool overlooking Lake Como, a unique glamping experience in Switzerland with a private ski slope, and a selection of boutique hotels with spas and lake views straight out of a movie.

For landscape lovers and hiking enthusiasts, we recommend traveling aboard the Jacobite train to enjoy the immense natural beauty of the Highlands. Beautiful Scotland is the setting for the famous series ‘Outlander,’ so fans can embark on a very interesting route.

And of course, we recommend discovering magical places like Skye, the Hebrides, the cliffs of Cornwall, or enjoying festivities such as Imbolc or Beltane in Glastonbury. These are places surrounded by an unparalleled mystical aura that will not disappoint you
